Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Anything you type into a search box on this site, such as a name or a date of birth, is passed to the outside provider that runs that search. The provider processes the entry and returns the results to you. We do not keep or log the terms you submit on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, we retain the message so we can answer it. It stays with our team and is not shared outside the organization unless the law requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers record some technical details each time a page loads:
- The pages you opened and the time you spent on each one
- The browser and version your device is running
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Your operating system and device type
- The site that referred you here, when there is one
- A timestamp for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files a site stores on your device. They help us see which pages get the most traffic and where readers move on. Analytics services aggregate that traffic information for us. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some parts of the site may then behave differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing your search requests to the correct partner service
- Keeping the site online and loading quickly
- Learning which pages help readers and which need work
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may match your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not compile, host, maintain, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant records. We publish general guidance about where Blue Earth County warrant records are kept and how to check them, which means the county active-warrant feed, the district court that issues warrants, Court Administration, and the sheriff's Records Division. Minnesota has no public statewide warrant search to point you to. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we gather about visitors is turned into a consumer report about anyone.
Third-Party Search Partners
The search boxes on this site are operated by outside companies. Whatever you enter into one is handled under that company's privacy policy rather than this one. Those partners decide their own retention and sharing practices, and we have no control over them. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to sheriff's office pages, Minnesota court portals, state statute pages, legal aid groups, and third-party search tools. Following any of those links takes you away from this site, and the destination's privacy policy then applies to your visit. Review it before you share personal details.
Some advertising partners track activity across websites in order to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. A limited set of parties may receive some of it:
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Search partners that process the queries you run here
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Government or law enforcement bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use ordinary security practices to protect the data we collect. No site connected to the internet can promise complete safety, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur. We work to keep your information secure and to correct problems when they appear.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us data, contact us and we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where you live, state law may give you additional rights over your personal data. Minnesota's Government Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. ch. 13, governs data held by government agencies rather than a private reference site like this one, but it is the law that shapes how the Minnesota offices we link to handle their records. At a minimum, you can ask us to:
- Correct information we hold that is wrong
- Provide a copy of what we have on file about you
- Delete your data
- Stop certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change as the site changes. When it does, the revised version appears on this page with a new effective date. Check back if you want to follow how visitor information is handled.
